Hey everyone! I just want to pick everyone's brain regarding crowdfunding and ask these two questions: 1. In your opinion, what kind of reward/perk would make you want to support a crowdfunding campaign? 2. At what donation level would you expect to see this reward? Let's assume that the particular campaign doesn't have any star power attached; it's just a fellow filmmaker wanting to raise money. I'm curious to know everyone's thoughts. Now that many more filmmakers are pursuing crowdfunding for their financing, I'm wondering what it is that generates interest (besides word of mouth). Thanks for your input!

There's a post on the Kickstarter blog from a few years back. They had run the numbers and discovered $25 was the sweet spot for low-end backers. Their suggestion included several successful campaigns, highlighted a standout $25 reward. Like I said, that was from a few years ago, but it's probably still relevant. Second to that, the tiered reward structure can be effective: where most rewards contained the rewards of the lower-priced tiers. So if your lowest reward had a t-shirt, your second reward was a DVD and a t-shirt. And your third-reward--say the $25 reward--was the t-shirt, DVD, and something else. The dollar amounts for these rewards were just demonstrational, fyi.
Thanks for your feedback, Steven!
