Introduce Yourself : Success Story! I won't stop until I'm "Dreaming Awake!" :) by Mia Querida My'Love

I'm just going to talk and tell you all a little about Mia and how I got to be here! Okay, Mia is Puerto Rican and African American. I am a Junior in high school, I run track, I love to act, I write my own songs in hopes to be able to sing them to the world one day, I love to dance & read, and unfortunately, I am also a victim of being bullied. I was raised in a small town in New Jersey by my mom and step-father in which I assumed was my father. My home was a broken one, my step-father abuse my siblings and I physically and mentally. Though my mother tried all she could to protect us, she too was getting abused by him. She couldn't leave because that meant leaving my brother and sister (his children) my siblings. But one day, I guess it was too much for her and she grabbed my hand and we walked out without not looking back :( Needless to say, once my mother finally left my step-dad alone, he not only abandoned her but also myself. At the age of 14, I met my biological father and well he lasted about 30 days, left for a year, then came back into my life and left again after almost 3 months:( Another broken heart! The only good thing that came of this relationship with my biological father was the beginning of my modeling/acting career. Let me explain. While we were shopping at a mall, this lady came up to him and I and said she wanted to shoot me (at first I was like, "what did I do" lol) but she went on to explain that she was a photographer and liked my style (whatever that was)! So after my mom interrogated her, it was a go! My journey began! I've walked for many runway shows for New York September Fashion Weeks, Charity events, I had a lead part in a short beginners film. I played a 23 year old single mother of 3, and I continue to do runway shows as we speak so I can gain more experience walking, public speaking, and simply exposure. Someday, I hope my story inspires others, I'm able to be in a movie with some of my favorite actors and actresses, or meet my favorite model ever Tyra Banks, Oh there's so much to me lol, sometimes I feel like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, enjoying my walk on the yellow brick road until I'm finally home. Well, this is a bit of me... I won't stop until I'm "Dreaming Awake!"
