Screenwriting : TV Series vs. Feature Film by Stephen Williams

TV Series vs. Feature Film

It sounds like there are currently more opportunities in television than in feature films. Question: has anyone chucked their feature film project, or rather, TRANSFORMED IT into a series? If so, what kind of results did you have? (I'm asking because I have a feature script with lots of plot lines and characters--I'm thinking it might also work as a TV series. ) You thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, and it was a fun experience. You take two hours of story and turn it into a potentially endless tale. It required some rethinking, a bunch of rewriting, and gave me the opportunity to explore the world in more depth than the film version allowed. The pilot edition looks very different from the feature edition. My recommendation (if you try it) is don't let yourself be tethered by the feature's plotline. Allow yourself to look at it as an adaptation or as an entirely new project.
