I have been thinking that I should look into finding some means to promote my movie related website. I do a lot on my own, but was thinking that having a publicist or someone like that would be helpful. Any thoughts or tips out there for me?

No, I'm not an actor, director, etc. I do run a movie related website at AfterCredits.com. The site takes up a ton of my time. I work very hard on it, I just wish the income was better from it. But it's a labor of love, and I won't just walk away from it. I am in the I.T. field by day. You know, the guy you call up when you computer won't start up or you can't log in. Stuff like that. I do have one really good short film idea that I would love to come to fruition. Maybe one day. I just don't know where to start with it. I don't really have a desire to become some big shot director or anything. Although, I did dream of being an actor or stuntman growing up. I'm 39 now and my body isn't as young as it used to be. So stuntman is out. I guess I still wouldn't mind acting if the right opportunity came up; but I don't know how good or bad I would be. Thanks for reading!
I'll start by saying that I feel that I have a really good and original idea for a film but I just don't know where to go from here. At first I was thinking it would be a feature length film, but the more I thought about it, I realized that it might be better as a short film. The problem is that I'v...

At first I was thinking it would be a feature length film, but the more I thought about it, I realized that it might be better as a short film. The problem is that I've never had such an idea before. I honestly am not trying to break into the movie biz nor do I have the desire to continue making films. I just have one really good idea that I would love to see made happen. Any suggestions? Any thoughts on how I can move forward with this? I would appreciate any and all responses. Thanks!

Expand commentDon't know. I've been planning on writing it down at least into a story type paper. But just haven't gotten around to it. We just moved to a different state recently and are still getting settled here. Seems I'm working on the house or when I'm not doing that, trying to find a real, paying job. Haven't had much time to sit down and write yet...hopefully soon!
Well, now that you know how to make your short film idea into a realty you have the power in your hands. As soon as you find the time in your busy life you can make this a reality!
Like plenty of people have said here, an idea is just an idea until you put it on paper. Take the leap, start writing and you never know what you will find on the other end.
I have a great short film idea. I believe it is unique and a very interesting idea/concept. I have never made a film and to be honest, after this idea, I don't think I'd continue. I just have one really good idea but don't know what to do about it and how to make it happen. Can anyone out there help me? Anyone in the Chicago area willing to team up and make this happen? I don't want to post details here for fear of someone taking my idea and developing it on their own. Thanks in advance for the help! -Chris
