Here is a synopsis of the project which will be the next Sound of Freedom!

The Hurting is a harrowing tale of a child’s survival and redemption that follows the true

story of young Paul Abramson as he is put through unimaginable mental and physical

abuse by his wealthy, sadistic and negligent parents in an affluent, primarily white

suburb of Chicago.

Beaten and torn from a very young age, Paul’s parents sent him off to a mental

institution where he suffers unspeakable acts of cruelty, not because of any mental

illness, but to simply get rid of him.

We follow him through his storied childhood and adolescence in yet another facility, all

the way to adulthood where he escapes and finally finds redemption in the form of

healing and the true meaning of a better life and family.

Survival is clear, but it’s not always clear cut. Family is everything, but in this case, it is

his own family that destroyed everything.

Paul’s story is horrific, but important. He is a beacon for his generation and other

survivors, but it hurts to think about what he has been through and a child not being

safe in his own home.

This is a movie that needs to be made, because this is a thread of life that exists and

needs to be shared and exposed.
