Paralysis by Analysis

Paralysis by Analysis. Always been my weak point. Can’t mess around with this anymore! Any critique is invited. Really, feel free to give it low points. I will take note.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Charles V Abela. Hope you find a producer for your script!

Charles V Abela

Maurice Vaughan Good on ya, mate. Thank you. Very flexible in your thoughts. And the extra blank has disappeared.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Charles V Abela.

When your profile info is speaking in third person, clearly written by you in third person, it's weird.

Not exactly a friend request I totally want to accept, because then I wonder, are you always going to refer to yourself in the third person in a conversation?

Don't be that guy. Not the third one an...

Wong Kar-Wai - the making of Chungking Express

I love the films of Wong Kar-Wai and in particular, Chungking Express and to learn that it was shot guerrilla fashion with $0s amazes me even more.

And then you have the cinematography of Chris Doyle (a legend in my books), and the performances of Tony Leung, Faye Wong and Valerie Chow, well, this se...

Mark Deuce I think there’s a lesson to be learnt here Mark, and it’s about creative resilience. As Mike pointed out, in a hiatus in the shooting of one film, what does the filmmaker do? Yes, shoot ano...

2046 was actually the first movie I watched of his that made me fall in love with cinematography (ok, 3, Christopher Doyle, Lai Yiu-fai, and Kwan Pung-leung). No one seems to give enough cred to Australian cinematographers, even though they've shaped the industry and won Oscars :D

Lukas Strautins what’s your favourite Australia movie, Lukas?

Question For All! Builder or Destroyer?

Do you think that the folks here on Stage 32 are supportive or not?

Have we surrounded ourselves with Builders or Destroyers?

I can see comments here that bash and trash people and their dreams of becoming a writer.

Why am I saying this?

Well, it is what I am seeing.

Pitching commercials to companies

Hi everyone,

Just wondering, does anyone have experience in pitching TV/Advertising commercial ideas to companies?

As a production company, how would you structure a treatment for doing so, and what department in those respective companies would you target to get a meeting?

Lukas Strautins

Willem Elzenga Do you mind if I message you privately?

Tips on how to deal with not being able to write enough?

I feel like most people struggle with tending to write too much, especially in first drafts of stories and really having to cut down their scripts during their second and third drafts. I have the opposite problem. I never seem to be able to write more than 60 pages for my first draft and my script a...
