Expand postHI everyone! I am an Icelandic playwright/Screenwriter/writer and actress currently living in Malta. :) There is a big difference in living in Iceland, London Brixton or Malta I can tell you :) Not only climate wise but also the general feel, smell, sound, taste and tempo. I wonder how my writing will change by staying here in Malta for some time. I speak quite a few languages and have used that skill in my writing, I for instance wrote my play Kitchen to measure ordinary horror stories - in Icelandic, rewrote it in English and then again in Italian - and with each translation I found that new imagery and interesting angles shifted with each translation. It made the play richer in my view. It is not something the audience or the production group or the reader feels or senses in any way though. It was just a tool I use since I am able to. In some respects for fun :) That play has already been translated for productions in Denmark, Turkey and Slovenia and an English translation exists as well. I have primarily been working as a playwright and screenwriter (tv and film) but recently written 3 children books (for age 8 - 12). So far I have been very fortunate that my works have received outstanding reviews and quite a lot of awards. It has encouraged me to carry on because unfortunately my writing has not given me enough to live on so far. But I intend to change that by changing my way of going about things. .
