Jamela Jones, a full figured employee floor manager has everything going for her, a great job, a nice house, an excellent credit score and a handsome fiancé who she just caught in bed cheating on her with two women at the same time. After kicking him out and breaking off their engagement she turns to advice from her friend Tammi, an opinionated and independent woman who convinces Jamela to accompany her and their colorful companions Sonia and April to a weight loss/improvement resort. At the resort, Jamela and her friends participate in a two week program including a cash prize competition designed to get her and the girls in shape mentally and physically. In an unexpected turn she finds herself romantically involved with Ray, the resort's head trainer. Jamela and her friends participate in daily competitions against several other groups including The Queen Bees led by Nikki, the program's three times former champion and self-proclaimed superstar.
