Lucy is the 13-year-old daughter of Emily, a struggling writer and single Mom. Emily lives under the shadow of her own mother's literary success. When news arrives that Emily has been offered her dream job for a magazine in San Francisco, Lucy hides the offer letter fearing her world will be turned upside down.
