The weakness of King Lear to be swayed by his vanity and anger gives rise to his daughter Cordelia becoming a victim of an injustice. On the contrary, his other daughters Goneril and Regan exploit the King´s weakness to seize power and unleash their innermost passions: disloyalty, betrayal, torture, lust, infidelity and murder. The destruction of the family brings with it the destruction of society, the whole order falters. This stage production by Tomaz Pandur reflects on philosophical issues, it is a dream about the decadence and decline of the world. A brutal play, full of disasters and seemingly senseless cruelty that questions the justice, truth, loyalty, morality and ethics in the world. Revealing the basic understanding of what it means to be human; needs, memories, dreams, visions and our connection with nature and the universe.
