'Step into the ring, step up to life.' 'STEP INTO THE RING' takes us inside the world of boxing in South Auckland, New Zealand, one of the poorest areas of the city. We meet two South Auckland boxers, New Zealand's rising heavyweight boxing star, Joseph Parker, as he transitions from a champion amateur boxer into the 'pro' ranks, and Calley Gibbons, an amateur boxer with great potential and dreams of following in Joseph Parker's footsteps. We learn about the passionate fans of the sport in South Auckland, and what drives them to put their minds and bodies on the line when they they step into the ring and step up to life.
