I have more than 20 years film/TV production experience, and more than 8 years of international journalism experience. Throughout my life, I have met, interviewed and been inspired by people who have overcome great challenges and created avenues for change within our society. From Religious Leaders, to Holocaust Survivors, to American Civil Rights leaders of the 50’s and 60’s, to everyday heroes living in developing nations. Through writing I have striven to understand and share their experiences with homophobia, sexual abuse, physical abuse, infidelity, drug abuse, divorce, race/religious intolerance, and mental health issues.
In 2004, I published The Little Book of Man: an essay on the human spirit, and have been published in several poetry anthologies. I have received awards from the International Society of Poets in 2002, 2003, and 2004 and 2005. I was also honored with Editor’s Choice and Poet of Merit Awards. In 2007 and 2008, while living in Paris, I produced a global photography project to celebrate our shared human experience, entitled Once Upon A Time On Planet Earth with participating photographers from more than 40 countries.
In 2008, I produced / directed Brotherly Love: A Vision of Hope, a multimedia essay on the homeless of Philadelphia. I am passionate about telling the stories of people who have overcome their fears and become heroes in their own right.
