Sara Fay George is an internationally renowned Theater Artist living in New York City. She is the Co-Artistic Director of “The Box Collective” and Founder of “The Holistic Actor” training method. Her skill sets span from actor, dancer, writer, director, and producer, to educator.
She is passionate about challenging the conventions in todays theater scene and this comes forward most in her work with “The Box”, a international collective formed in 2010, that is dedicated to blurring lines between artistic mediums and genres. As a playwright, Sara Fay is most known for interpreting existing Classical texts and weaving them into new stories that penetrate the subconscious. Her first piece, 116, was composed from the complete works of William Shakespeare, and told the story of a Man and Woman in purgatory. Her latest piece, “The Stadt Elegies” was composed from the writings of Rainer Maria Rilke and told the story of an artists search for the transformation of his own suffering into a pure creative expression. “ The Stadt Elegies” toured through Europe in the Summer of 2015 and will premiere in New York City in the Fall.
