About Tawan

Tawan was raised in Paterson and South Orange, New Jersey. His love for the arts came at an early age; painting and acting for family and friends in school plays. He also developed a love for the opera after a 5th grade class trip to see "La Boheme." 19th century paintings, foreign language films as well as "Hitchcock", film noir and epic driven movies, collectively were the vehicle for cinema and color science education Tawan sought. From 1993-1995 Tawan spent the summers at NYU Tisch School of the Arts continuing education program studying cinematography, screenwriting and the history of cinema. In addition to countless hours reading books on color science and technology. In 2000, Tawan shot his first movie which he also color graded. For more than 16 years he has been working as a professional colorist grading over 100 films, music videos, national commercial campaigns and television programs in the US and Europe. Currently, the series Vanity, color graded by Tawan is nominated for an Emmy. TV pilot, Unofficially: Home, shot by Tawan is in post production.
