About Tyler

Tyler C. Peterson (he/him) is a Los Angeles-based filmmaker and the founder of Capital Emmy-winning production company Lux Daze Media. He is best known as the Writer / Director for short films STAN BEHAVIOR, COPPER & WOOL, and SUMMER HILL.

Raised in rural Maryland, Tyler graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor's Degree in film and a thirst for challenging industry ideologies. Living in Baltimore, he began exploring both his voice as a Writer / Director and his own queer identity. With a passion for leading projects that put diversity as a priority both in front of and behind the camera, he established Lux Daze Media in 2015. His work focuses on character-driven stories following outsiders of niche communities and is visualized with a richly textured, dream-like aesthetic.

Tyler’s last film COPPER & WOOL, an improvised 16mm project has been an official selection in nine film festivals, including NewFilmmakers LA, won “Best Short Film” at the North Beach American Film Festival and “Festival Favorite'' at Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs LGBT+ Film Festival, and has been nominated for seven awards including the Micheaux Film Festival’s Panavision Award for Outstanding Short. Additionally, the Jena Burchick-directed feature documentary MOM & M won a Capital Emmy award, which was Co-Produced by Tyler under Lux Daze Media. STAN BEHAVIOR is his fifth film as a Writer / Director.

Tyler's highly anticipated fifth short film STAN BEHAVIOR starring Ginger Minj (RuPaul's Drag Race, Dumplin', Hocus Pocus 2) and Yvonne Zima (The Long Kiss Goodnight, Heat, ER, The Young and the Restless) is completed and due for release in 2024.
