About Bruce

Bruce B. Gordon is a director, screenwriter, producer, editor and songwriter. His films often include original songs from his independent music label. His company (Bruce Gordon Media) has multiple feature film projects in various stages of development.

When he moved to Los Angeles, Bruce B. Gordon transplanted the songwriting and music production talents he learned in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan very easily. After playing keyboards in the band on a TV award show, he worked on recording sessions and co-wrote a theme song for an independent feature film. Soon his creative vision expanded to include the moving image, and he worked on a music video directed by recording artist “Prince.” Bruce interned at Columbia Pictures Studios (Sony) during college in the Story, Music, Post-Production, Publicity, Promotion and Sales Departments. He wrote scripts and comedy material, selling to stars such as Joan Rivers.

After graduating from UCLA with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, he worked in Production Accounting at Aaron Spelling Productions, where he also studied the creative and financial processes for prime-time network, cable TV and feature production. He later worked for an international subtitle/dubbing post-production house and for Warner Bros. Entertainment as a feature film and TV Digital Media Technician, creating iTunes VOD conversions of Warner Bros. Pictures new releases and classic films.

Bruce has written, directed, produced, photographed and/or edited many shorts, TV projects, commercials and Web promos. He recently updated his directing and cinematography skills with the latest, state-of-the-art digital cinema techniques and processes at The Los Angeles Film School, where he made his RED/DSLR-camera digital thesis film entitled “Whole ‘Nother Level.”

After being selected for the 2013 Festival de Cannes Court Métrage (Short Film Corner), “Whole ‘Nother Level” screened at the 2013 Jagran Film Festival in Mumbai, India (after having screened in New Delhi, Agra, and Varanisi). It was also selected for screening at the February 2014 Festival des 24 Courts in Changé, France and it won two awards at the 2013 Hollywood & Vine Film Festival (Best Visual Effects in Short Film & Best Music in Short Film). It was selected to screen at the inaugural Los Angeles Independent Music/Film International Summit as well.

In May 2014, Bruce’s “Whole ‘Nother Level” short film was selected at the Festival Entr’2 Marches in Cannes, France; a disability-themed festival which takes place across town from and concurrently with the Festival de Cannes. Subtitled in French, the title is translated as: “Le Niveau Supèrieur.” A version with Spanish subtitles has also been created and other languages will follow upon further requests.

Bruce is committed to creating quality entertainment that maximizes global audience engagement.

Unique traits: Bruce Gordon Media has an enduring passion for telling stories of healing and recovery that entertain international audiences, win critical awards, and have blockbuster success at the worldwide box office. The company designs its films to bring people together, by focusing on our commonality as humans, as opposed to our individual differences. Telling stories to help individuals discover and achieve the best versions of themselves is also a prime directive. Bruce Gordon Media is in the process of securing Executive Producers, financing and distribution for its multiple feature film projects, which are in various stages of development.
