This year has kept me busy, with four workshops of Fat Mike (NoFX) and Jeff Marx's (Avenue Q) new musical, Home Street Home. It's a punk rock piece about homeless youth finding family in the least likely of places. I happen to play a hooker named Boobs. We've performed in CT, LA, and SF and are slowly but surely making our way to NY...fingers crossed.
I came to NY hoping to play an ingenue (hahahahaha)....and found myself getting cast in comedic female/drag roles. I've played Joan Crawford, Faye Dunaway, Cruella Deville, a trans alien (I'm not even going to try to explain it), a eunuch, and a zombie. I seem to have found my pocket, or my pocket found me.
I graduated from UCLA with a degree in acting...but feel I left equipped with the tools to create my own work. I've written five one-woman shows for my alter-ego (Millie Grams), each featuring 20 parodies of musical theatre standards and sixties pop. It's rewarding work.
