About Shanti

A former Software Engineering dropout, Shanti Bhushan is a Graduate in Cinematography (2006) from the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII)-PUNE. He has worked on several 35MM &16MM cameras and specialised in advanced Lab Processing and Digital Image Processing and Work Flow Techniques.

He has worked on various formats of High End Digital Cine Video formats like ALEXA, RED, High Definition (CineAlta & Varicam) to Digital Video broadcast DIGIBeta,Beta, DVCPROs models to Digital Videos - HDV, DVCAM models.

He has worked on New Media of Cannon 5D Mark II,III, 7D and new technology which is still evolving.

Also has worked as Director of Photgraphy on " BALLAD OF RUSTOM" a Hindi Feature film by AJITA SUCHITRA VEERA on 35MM-Anamorphic with ARRI 535B Cameras and Hawk lenses- which is doing rounds of International Film Festivals - got "BEST DIRECTOR" award for EXCELLENT CINEMATIC EXPRESSION ,DARING FORM AND PERSPECTIVE.

He has worked as DOP on" THE STORY OF MY LIFE" on RED and 5D MARK II with Cine Primes (under post production)

Also worked as DOP on Feature Film "SHUTTLE COCK BOYS" super 16MM -has been recently released by PVR all over the country.

He gas shot another Feature Film "VATSALA" on HD-(under post production)

He has worked on Short Feature films, International Documentaries, Music videos on different Film & Video Formats.

Recently worked on a wide range of Television programs- like SATYAMEV JAYATE -hosted by AMIR KHAN amongst others for Channels like STAR WORLD, SONY,SAHARA, STAR PLUS etc.

He has shot a number of TVCs for brands like TATA STEEL, PEPSODENT, SURF EXCEL, DOVE SOAP, DOMEX, BOURNVITA ETC and

He has shot several CORPORATE AD FILMS for corporates like SHELL,INTEL -MUMBAI,TATATELE SERVICES- MUMBAI, MTDC-MUMBAI etc.

Unique traits: I am a Cinematographer, Filmmaker and a former graduate of prestigious film school Film and Television Institite of India-Pune. As Cinematographer I have good experience of shooting for Ficton and Non-Fiction Feature Films, TV series, TVCs, Documentaries and Corporate Films on various analogue and Digital Cine cameras series and also on various Film Formats. Most of the films have been shot Sync Sound so I have very good experience of shooting on location sound projects. I have shot about 6 Feature films, last one was with Nana Patekar and Mahi Gill - a hindi film "Wedding Anniversary" slated to release later this year in RED DRAGON with Ultra Prime Lenses. I shot 2014 Oscar Short listed "Ballad of Rustom" produced and directed by Ajita Suchitra Veera- waiting for its Indian relaease,which has been showcased at various film festival and has been raved for its poetic narrative and visual style.
