He is originally from Grand Forks , North Dakota and has played music with various country, rock/pop bands and as a singer songwriter in clubs from NY to the West Coast..He moved to Nashville in 1988 from Eugene , Oregon to do an audition for You Can Be a Star on The Nashville Network (TNN) .Terry was one of the founders along with Michael Carney of the 70’s country rock group Dakotah, a successful band in Eugene, OR. in the Pacific North West. He has shared the stage with legendary artist like Steppenwolf, Elvin Bishop, Head East, Beautiful Day, Country Joe and the Fish and David Bromberg and was a Semi Finalist on Star Search. He's worked as a Creative Director of The Cornelius Companies and Gateway Entertainment owned by Ron Cornelius, a well known music publisher and. producer in Nashville. Terry did the A &R for Ron and helped him find songs for artists on the label and plug songs for the company. As a song plugger he's had songs recorded by Faith Hill and recently got the title cut on “ The Little River Bands new album,” Cuts Like a Diamond “. He has written and charted 4 top 10 singles and a #1 song in the Positive Country market and has had numerous songs recorded by Gateway artists and other Indy artist releases . His song “ John Wayne and Jesus “ was a country/gospel radio hit for Michael Grimm, America’s Got Talent winner in 2010. The song received a “ Song of the Year “ nomination by the CCMA and earned Grim a Star of Tomorrow Award . He 's worked on artists projects for Keith Olsen, producer of Fleetwood Mac, Rick Springfield, Foreigner and White Snake, and co-written songs with country artists Tracy Lawrence, Bobby Marquez, and other successful hit writers including; Jennifer Pierce whose had songs recorded by Johnny Cash and Garth Brooks and with Gerald Smith whose had hits with George Strait, George Jones, Collin Raye and others.

Terry just finished co-writing and co-producing 2 EDM pop songs with Brian Tyson, a Multi Platinum hip hop and rap engineer and music producer whose beats and productions have charted in Billboard’s top 100’s and #2 in the country. His most recent career achievement is composing 2 songs for " Christmas Ride " , a new independent film written and directed by Karen Francis,, The film was included in the eligible feature film category for Oscars Best Picture this past year and has had song placements with HBO and Steven Seagal movie "Force of Execution." and recently with "My Best Friend". a Family Friendly TV movie for Lionsgate.
