I started out my career as a Police Officer in Liverpool taking some time out in the late 70s and early 80s to join the South African Marines dealing mainly with anti terrorism. I did this purely for the experience and to be able to say I had done it. I eventually returned to the UK and continued my career with the Police. During this time I was commended several times by the Chief Constable and Crown Court Judges. I also received a comendation from the Liverpool Shipwreck and Humane Society for an act of Heroism (their words not mine). Upon retiring from the Service I was employed as a consultant with HM Prisons in order to assess their prceedures in dealing with prisoners. As a direct result of this I was sent to advise different Prison systems all over the world on dealing with non conformist prisoner behaviour. I was then recruited by HM Foreign Office working directly for the Government. A position I hold to this day.
