I started writing as a teenager. One story I wrote and sent to Omni magazine a long time ago gave me hope. Although it was rejected, it was compared to Harlan Ellison’s “I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream.” It is amazing what sticks with you. I had to abandon my writing due to life's complications and joined the U.S. Navy. However, it wasn't until the bell tolled for my mother in 2008, and I found she had kept some of my old stories, that the writing bug bit once again. Out of work, and after searching for two years in my chosen profession of information tech, I combined two passions of mine, writing and horror movies and decided to write a screenplay. So, bought a book, went on “The Google” and pounded a couple.
Since my screenplay LEGACY has been out there, it has done okay in some contests but. I decided to turn it into a book, and it is doing well. You can find links to it here www.auteurmj.com or on my Facebook author page https://www.facebook.com/mjbuk1
I would not have been able to do any of this without the never ending love and support of my wife, without her, I would be living in my old Honda with my 10 year old laptop talking to myself as I write, siphoning free WI-FI, and digging through restaurant garbage for scraps. I am lucky to have her, and with that I will leave you with this: As Kris Kringle said to the Winter Warlock – “Put one foot in front of the other, and soon you’ll be walking out the door.” ;-)
