Kwame begins to rediscover his compassion through his relationship with Roxanne, a drug addicted young woman who lives in his apartment building, struggling to come to terms with the death of her infant son,. This relationship offers both of these troubled souls hope and shows Kwame that he has been avoiding life for a long time as he questions whether or not it is time for him to head home to Ghana.
