About Edgar

Born in Washington, D.C., and currently live in Los Angeles, California. My interest in media production and communications came at the early age of 10 when my parents bought me an RCA video camera for Christmas. In 2002, my pre-occupation in the media arts was enhanced when I signed up for a film and television broadcasting class as a junior at Crossland Senior High School. After graduating from high school in 2004, I attended Lynn University, in Boca Raton, Florida, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications, with a specialization in TV Broadcasting and a minor in Film.

I was fortunate enough to be mentored by Mr. Irving R. Levine, Emmy award winning former broadcast journalist with NBC and Dean of Lynn's School of Communications during my time there. After graduating, I continued work in production, performing a paid internship with NBC Universal – Washington News Bureau as well as interning with the NBC Universal New York News Bureau at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota the summer of 2008. Before graduating college I became increasingly infatuated with film history and fine art analysis, and throughout my time at NBC I realized my passion for film - particularly cinematography - was stronger than my passion for broadcast news.

So I decided to study film more in-depth, completing the certificate program at Boston University Center for Digital Imaging Arts, specializing in professional digital filmmaking. I am happiest when I'm behind the lens, blocking, framing, lighting and capturing moments only ever seen in ones mind until you press record. I've never been a particularly gifted painter/sketcher, so I enjoy being able to use the tools of my trade to pay homage to those who've inspired me so much.
