I am a Living Machine, a Precocious Joker, an Abstract Thinker, a Gemini, a Designer, a Developer, a Musician, a Composer, a Songwriter, a Singer, and a Producer. In short, a Restless Creative.
I have had the privilege to engage with many of the world's biggest brands and get involved at a strategy level on campaigns too numerous to count. I have traveled extensively pitching creative or sustaining client relationships. I have managed large internal teams and outside vendors as a producer on 100+ interactive projects, in addition to being involved directly in IA/UX, Storyboards, Design Support, Music, Sound Design and Copywriting. I am often referred to as a kind of renaissance man, given my diverse talents and life experiences. I am a visual and abstract thinker in a constant state of amusement. I am also found in a state of California!
I own and operate an interactive agency called Eccentric Pixel. Eccentric Pixel functions as a collective that takes on projects ranging from websites, mobile apps, video, 3D modeling and animation, to visual effects. While I primarily handle the bulk of the workload, various tasks are assigned to others based on the needs of the project or scheduling conflicts. The consortium/coalition model is not a new concept but it is far more effective and accepted in today's digital age and certainly the way anything in Cinema gets done. If you would like to work with me on a project, please shoot me an email.
I also work as a composer/producer. My music has been used consistently for the last several years on television and Internet campaigns, in addition to my work on film. I have various credits as a sound designer as well. As a musician/songwriter, I play several instruments. I started when I was 13 with a guitar my Dad bought me. Shortly after, the drums...back to guitar...then to piano...bass, mandolin...etc. I can pick up most stringed instruments instinctively but the real fact of the matter is that I play by ear. I revolted against learning music theory when I was younger (big mistake) and made an arrogant decision to teach myself. That MO is pretty much how I approach everything BUT isn't it more rewarding to figure something out on your own than to memorize books. Aside from that, it renders a more unique perspective on things because you are essentially approaching technology and whatever it is from a creative standpoint rather than operating from knee-jerk reactions someone else has drilled into you. ...alas, I digress. Creatively, I am overwhelmed constantly by my imagination and am cursed by introversion and a brooding indifference which manufactures both sparks and black holes inside of any creative process. In other words, I am a GEMINI. This finds its way into my music in a lot of ways.
I am a one-man band. My main artist alias I release music under is called "LIVING MACHINE". You can stream and purchase this material all over (iTunes, Pandora, Rhapsody, Spotify, etc.). My iTunes URL is http://itunes.com/livingmachine.
I have worked in sales for a good portion of my life. I sold newspaper subscriptions door-to-door as a kid. I sold myself as an actor for the Jack Rose Agency back in 1989-1992. I sold my pride for pennies during the period of time that I owned my own business as a graphic artist doing signs and murals mainly. I sold my sweat for character building as I worked for a commercial sign company daily constructing monuments, pylons, and every other kind of fabricated signage for brands like Starbucks, Ralphs, Borders, AMC Theaters, etc. I sold for banks and brokers over a 5 year period I spent as a loan officer. I did a stint as a sales manager for a printing and disc replication company. For 9 years, I was the Director of Business Development for a renowned interactive agency, 2Advanced Studios. My roles and responsibilities at 2Advanced ranged from the critical task of keeping people paid by bringing money in through the door down to production level tasks of information architecture, sound design, design support, storyboards, music editing, copywriting and even some front-end development. It was an interesting ride full of a unique set of challenges but considering the travel I got to do, the comfortable six-figure income I enjoyed and the people I have met as a result, its hard to knock it. To follow that up with the fact that I was the second employee and took part in building the company to where it is today as a respected and highly sought after studio, I am proud to be a part of that history.
I am open to collaborative experiences and always looking for new things to invest my creative energies in. So please reach out to me - preferably with your right hand, since I am righthanded. There are a lot of ways to get my attention but the most traditional is the following: email@example.com OR 949.300.9431.
