About the job

Looking for production contacts and anyone who may be interested in championing what I believe is a truly unique adaptation and historical drama.

Logline: In 1975, when a Connecticut family man learns of his scam-artist father’s death in a Tijuana hotel, he relives his tumultuous youth and the schemes that kept his family moving around Europe, the Middle East and beyond. A true story.

"Crossing Borders" is a 2019 WeScreenplay semi-finalist and was recently rated by a NATAS Emmy-winning screenwriter in the top 5% of scripts they've reviewed, with comments like: "I found this to be an incredibly unique, compelling story... There was some fantastic visual storytelling throughout the script."

This fascinating story is in the vein of "The Glass Castle" (Brie Larson, Woody Harrelson). It is very much character-driven material, centering on themes of family duty and morality. The protagonist, Raymond, is torn between loyalty to his father and repugnance for his incessant schemes.

With the intriguing premise of a con-artist father and a young family on the run, caught up in the turbulent tides of history, I believe the film could enjoy wide appeal.

Hit me up to discuss the project in more detail. ;-)

Best,

The single still image of the family on a rooftop ready and willing to defend, is giving me all sorts of emotions.
