Raghav Tandon is the Director of TV Development at Blumhouse Production, one of the biggest production companies in the industry, most widely known for thier emphasis on dark or horror projects. While the company made it's name specializing in low and micro-budget films like PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, GET OUT, SPLIT, INSIDIOUS, THE PURGE, SINISTER and more, they have also producer a number of critically acclaimed non-horror projects including the Academy Award-winning WHIPLASH, the recent cult success LOWRIDERS, and the Emmy Award-winning "The Jinx" on HBO.

"The Jinx" is just one of many TV series Blumhouse has produced including "Ascension" on Syfy, "Eye Candy" for MTV, and "South of Hell" for WEtv to name a few. They are currently in production on the highly-anticipated TV adaptation of "Sharp Objects" for HBO, set to premiere next year and starring the Oscar-nominated Amy Adams.

Blumhouse has a 10-year first-look deal with Universal Pictures. They are currently looking to expand their slate of TV projects.

Raghav lives in Los Angles where he began his west coast career at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and then made the move to work for Bryan Burk at Bad Robot Productions before jumping over to Blumhouse Productions.

We recently asked Raghav if he had any insider tips for pitching:

  • "Clearly explain the structure of your project and focus on the merits of it."
  • "Don't get too personal at the top of the pitch or go in depth on why you love the project. I know you love your project, the question is why should I?"
  • "Don't use the same old comps (Game of Thrones, etc.)."
  • "Don't say your project should/needs to be only be on a high premium network (HBO, etc)"
