About the job

Trained, preferably experienced composers are sought for more than a dozen copyrighted projects dealing individually with a wide range of topics, locales and historical eras. Familiarity with classic Broadway Golden Age musicals, operetta and opera is desirable. SONDHEIM IMITATORS NEED NOT APPLY, THANKS.

All projects are temporarily ON SPEC UNTIL SUCH TIME AS OPTIONED FOR COMMERCIAL PRODUCTION. PLEASE DON'T BOTHER APPLYING UNLESS THIS IS ACCEPTABLE. When a show is optioned, the composer and I will--in most instances--split the Author's Advance (option money) and ALL ROYALTIES 50-50. Where my libretto is adapted from/based upon material copyrighted by a third party, the split will be one-third (1/3) to each of us.

I was granted conditional stage adaptation rights to the screenplay of the 1958 film by the estate of William Faulkner, pending a Hollywood big screen remake of that minor classic which starred Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.
