About Karen

I've always been fascinated by the arts, science and technology but writing is where my heart lies. I've studied with some of the finest screenwriting teachers in the US and Australia and have completed two short screenplays and one full length screenplay.

I am a published writer of short stories and I have completed a novel. I've also written agricultural, medical and scientific articles and ebooks as a public relations professional, freelance writer and ghostwriter.

I spent 20 years as an actress appearing on stage, film and TV. I also directed stage plays and studied Directing, TV Producing, Camera Essentials, Final Cut Pro Fundamentals at Metro Screen., NSW, Australia.

I'm also a science geek with a PhD in zoology/ethology. Photography is how I unwind when I'm not writing. Although an avid fan of science fiction and fantasy TV and film, I also appreciate serious drama - as long as it is in other people's lives.

Unique traits: Old broad who may or may not have studied ninjutsu.
