Laura Woodworth is an award-winning screenwriter as well as a producer and director of film, television and new media. Her feature screenplay TWO KEYS is a Finalist in the Act One Screenplay Competition and a Semi-Finalist in the Screencraft Family-Friendly Screenplay Competition; and was nominated as a Semi-Finalist for the Kairos Prize For Spiritually Uplifting Screenplays presented by MOVIEGUIDE and won the Audience Choice Award for the KCWIFT and KC FilmFest. Her short screenplay IN TUNE placed in the 168 Film Project Write of Passage Competition and is in the festival circuit with Woodworth as producer/director while other of her screenplays are in various stages of production.
Laura coordinated the production and served as a contributing writer for THE STEVE AND KATHY SHOW, a variety television show garnering 65 Telly Awards and 3 regional Emmy Awards in three seasons. Additionally, she directed and coordinated THIS IS REVIVAL PRAYER aired on CTN and coordinated the feature film 3 BLIND SAINTS featuring actors Richard Speight Jr. (SUPERNATURAL, BAND OF BROTHERS), award winning actor Stelio Savante (JO THE MEDICINE RUNNER, AMC’S THE MAKING OF THE MOB, WHAT IF), Audrey Matos (CHRISTMAS ON SALVATION STREET), Irma P. Hall and Barry Corbin. She helped spearhead iREVIVAL TV as a subscription-based online television show and served as communications director for the marketing and distribution of these film, television and new media projects.
Her short film FULL LOCKDOWN produced by Greenhouse Productions is currently in the festival circuit. Laura is the producer, director and contributing writer of the new STEVE AND KATHY ministry television show soon to be available on INSP Network in the U.S. and airing in the Middle East and Israel on METV.
Woodworth’s experience extends to performance and theatre, with an A.S. degree (emphasis on theatre and dance) and an assortment of acting roles in community and college theatre. She studied dance under dance master Ed Parish (AN AMERICAN IN PARIS) and was the writer, producer and director of THE PLAN, a community Christmas musical performed with a cast and crew of over 80 people. Additionally, Laura is an author and editor with several titles to her name including EFFECTIVE WRITING FOR MINISTRY AND BUSINESS; HUA – A TRAINING GUIDE FOR WOMEN; and EMPOWERED TO BE YOU, an ancillary study guide for the film, PAGE’S GREAT AND GRAND ESCAPE. Her writing has been carried by national press sources as well as online magazines including SPIRIT-LED WOMAN and CHARISMA.
Laura is the CEO and co-producer of SOURCE ENTERTAINMENT with her husband Samuel A. Woodworth. Her education includes Robert McKee’s STORY and GENRE seminars, John Truby’s ANATOMY OF STORY MASTER CLASS, and Dov Simens’ HOLLYWOOD FILM INSTITUTE. She has a Bachelor’s of Ministerial Studies from World Revival School of Ministry and completed post-graduate work at UCLA’s Professional Program in Film and Television Production.
