To answer your question about how to improve your delivery of lines: Well..one way to connect with the delivery is to connect with the words you are saying or delivering. What do the words mean to you. What do the words mean to whom you are speaking to. What emotions do they bring up in you as you are saying them. Laughter, fear, joy, frustration, anger, tears, love..let those emotions 'color' your delivery. This will lead you be more connected to the script and enjoy the process. Practice. Read scripts with your friends and other actors. You will feel better and get better in time.
