This definitely raises important ethical and contractual questions. If the contestant wasn’t aware their voice would be altered or replaced, that crosses a serious line in terms of consent and representation. Under SAG-AFTRA guidelines, any use of a performer’s likeness or voice, especially if altered with AI or dubbing, typically requires clear permission. If that wasn’t given, it could absolutely be a violation.
I was thinking more along the lines of being duped, not knowing it wasn't a real competition with no actual prize to be won. Is there a legal obligation to disclose?
