Boyfriend finally got me to start watching Initial D and though it had a slow start, I’m definitely enjoying it. Also love how they used 3D models for the car and even ripped an actual drift video into the anime itself… and of course the eurobeat songs are delightful. Not to mention realising where the memes came from.

Banafsheh Esmailzadeh Initial D is one of my favorite anime! The dialogue is my favorite, and learning about the cars was fun. It inspired me to create a racing story of my own.

I feel that Dwayne Williams, I can see why boyfriend said it was many people's gateway into drift and car culture as a whole, and it's good too because I need something like this for Petal (protagonist Jiro is a racecar driver, and honestly it makes perfect sense for him to be into drifting). We found the entire first stage subbed on YouTube so we're watching that :D
