Hello, everybody!
Hope you’re all doing well.
I recently rewatched Angel Heart — a film that truly gains depth and intensity thanks to two masters: Robert De Niro and Mickey Rourke. It touches on the fantastic and the symbolic in a brilliant way, yet its essence explores real human archetypes and the subtle influences we encounter in everyday life.
For me, it’s a fascinating, beautifully layered movie. Interestingly, many scenes include improvisations between Mickey and Robert, who apparently used to “test” each other a bit on set. Mickey had his demons, but he was undoubtedly a brilliant actor — and during that time, he was at the peak of his rise.
What do you think about the film?
Also, since we’re a community of movie lovers, I was thinking — what if we started a Movie Review Day? We could pick one day each week to discuss a specific film, share opinions and insights. What do you think?
Warm regards,
Sabin
