I am attempting to help an acquaintance secure an agent for the as yet unwritten movie adaptation of his completed (as in printed and shipped) autobiography. He is a legendary giant within his industry, and the story he tells is nothing short of remarkable. He is getting up there in years, and so is feeling motivated to move the project forward rapidly. I do not speak for him, but I can say if there were ever someone who could self-produce, it is him.
Where I seek to add value is not only in figuring out how to open a dialogue with AN agent, but by identifying an individual who is well-suited to help make the finished product something he feels is a good and proper legacy. It is worth mentioning that it is likely I will be working the project in some capacity, possibly as a writer and/or producer, but almost certainly as an advisor of some kind, if only as a point of communication.
