Filmmaking / Directing : A true home for indie. by Andrew John

A true home for indie.

Hey guys, My name is Andrew, in a web designer/ developer who absolutely loves film and media. I decided to begin creating a platform for indie filmmakers to distribute their films. The goal is to have a platform that operates in between Netflix and apples ITunes Store. Users will be able to purchase films and web series for micro payment I.e short-films will be sold for 0.99p and web series for £1.99p... Their would also be a subscription aspect for users who just love the content on the site. So £3.99 would allow you to watch as much as you want for a month. My issue is, youtube isn't helping indie films and webSeries enough and vimeo isn't established amongst the masses in regards to video consumption. So on comes Door9 to help. Guys let me know what you think of the idea I've begun developing an app and a new site to distribute people's films and shows already. Currently the site is just a showcase of content I have curated myself. But I have already begun speaking to filmmakers about licensing their work etc. What do you guys think? If you wanna talk with me about my plans In more detail email me ajohn@door9.co.uk and maybe we can SKYPE or have a coffee. Door9 Promo ad 1: http://youtu.be/P47LKTMMn40

Seems like a great idea. I've already watched 2 shorts on there. I wish there was a comment section below them or something.

Thanks for the feedback. I will take it into consideration. Send me your email and I'll add you to our mailing list. When the app and new site is ready I'll send you an update. Ajohn@door9.co.uk

Would some of the sales go to the filmmaker or is it purely to distribute the films?

Andrew John

70% of sales go to the filmmakers.

Joe Morley

That's very generous of you! I'll definitely try and get involved at some point
