Hello I have a feature film project that I'm in early development stages with. I have some ideas for the casting. I'm not ready to audition and cast actors as yet, but I've been thinking a lot about my main character, who is Indian. I have some strong ideas for cast to play some of the other characters, but I'm struggling with my lead character as I'm struggling to think of Indian actors who fit the bill. I'd be grateful to hear any tips regarding sourcing professional Indian actors. Of course there is spotlight but I don't currently have a subscription. I am a long way off filming or even auditioning but of the many aspects of film development that go through my mind regularly, this is my stumbling block. I know that I can put a casting call out once I'm ready to actually cast, but at this stage I'm just looking for ideas and inspiration! Any pointers would be great. Thanks Elizabeth

You should probably watch a few Indian based films so you have references on what you would like your characters to look like. That's what I would do I would also just search more for films that had actors of Indian origin in the U.S. you might find some willing to read your work. I would just watch some movies, research online and reach out to people.
Hi Tiffy Thanks for that. I have already done most of the above. As yet I haven't found any actors who fit the bill that I'm looking for. I've also worked on 2 indian films. I would think there are agencies out there who specialise in Indian actors but as yet I haven't found any! I'm based in the UK so I'm particularly interested in any UK based casting / actors agents who specialise in Indian actors. Please let me know if anyone knows of any such agencies?
