Query

Okay so if I am a simple struggle author that wants to go movie where would I start ? Step 1 - I joined Stage 32. Step 2 - ?? and so on.

I need a fricken miracle ....

Hey Nadine, the only think I can think of is to network as much as possible within this industry. You never know when you'll meet the right contact. You should prob look at putting together a script. Make sure your characters are rich and have some kind of a background. Next step would be finding a producer or production house to present your scripy and your story too. Don't give up!

Thanks Ryan. My biggest problem is that I have never done a script before so i don't know a 100 % what the rules are. Does the script need to be a specific length ? Do you need to register somewhere in order to submit a script and so on

Ryan Van Rensburg

NP. The only advice I can think of adding is to play out the movie in your head as you write the script. Think of what the characters would say in a more natural situation. There are surely no hard and fast rules. Just go for it.... As for registering. Wouldn't know sorry. maybe chat to one of the site developers

nADINE LOOK AT SCREENPLAYS TO FORMAT, THEN LOOK AT ACTUAL MOVIE AND LEARN BREAKDOWNS SO YOU WILL SEE WHEN TO NARRATE, DESCBE SCENES AND DIALOGUE. fOLLOW THE 4 W'S AND IT'S A START

Nadine ( Cloete ) Maritz

HI Stacy and Ryan. Thanks for that. I think I have already done that on draft. My problem was that I had only gotten to half of the book and it was already reaching a 100 pages therefore my inquiry about page limits etc. I noticed that you get different drafts though.

goto bluz1100@facebook.com see my time line and get idea's on how to write you story line, write your story in book format then break it down like a science report you wrote and ask to show and tell your story with narrations, dialogue with punchlines and good monents then the bad and then revive of the problem to prove the story as a good reason to script.

Thanks a lot for this

I was told that if I had to hand in a screenplay that was over 140 pages they wont even look at it
