DGA Diversity resource webpage

Hi, as you might see from my photo, I'm a Chinese-American producer and script consultant. I can tell from messages I'm receiving that diverse directors are seeking diversity directing programs. Please, please, please familiarize yourselves with http://www.dga.org/The-Guild/Diversity.aspx. There are many resources, and yes, they are for different seniority levels, and yes, researching them takes time, but doing so is a worthy investment. And a good start to understanding the landscape. Hollywood really does care about diversity!! http://www.dga.org/The-Guild/Diversity.aspx

Thank you for sharing this resource Regina. I know that it PGA also has a diversity program. One of our members @ErikLinthorst is developing a script through it right now and loves it.

Regina Lee

Thanks, Julie. I don't believe the PGA has a clear webpage as a resource, right? If so, could you please post it?

regina, i have a question: see i want to become a director so how would i go about getting into the DGA

Regina Lee

@Dickens, you have to be eligible to join. Here's a snippet from the DGA website: http://www.dga.org/The-Guild/Committees/Special/Independent/FAQ.aspx As a director, you must either be hired by a signatory company to direct a project or develop a feature length project and make your company/project signatory. On a very select, case-by-case basis, a director who has directed feature films that have bona fide theatrical releases in the United States and have received significant critical acclaim and/or commercial success may be invited to join. In the latter case, the director’s membership application is subject to special review by the appropriate Director’s Council.

Regina Lee

@Tony, thank you. I'm in the business, and all you need is open eyes/ears to know what's going on in your own industry. And I try not be to lazy!
