Emerald Fennel Breaks Down the Arrival Scene from 'Saltburn'

Academy award-winning filmmaker Emerald Fennel discusses one of the most meaningful scenes from her film 'Saltburn.' From working with the art department to create the glamorous yet toxic spirit of the film to working alongside actors Jacob Elordi and Barry Keoghan.

That was a very cool walk through! It’s amazing the detail. And it’s fun to have watched the movie and then hear what went into crafting that world.

Emerald Fennell gives a great breakdown in the video, @Ashley Renee Smith. This is my first time hearing about this movie. The door opening scene at 0:38 reminds me of the scenes in THE ADDAMS FAMILY when Lurch opens the front door. I wonder if Emerald was influenced by that franchise. She might've been since she mentioned "gothic" at 1:19 of the video. The house tour in SALTBURN also reminds me of the house tour scenes in THE ADDAMS FAMILY movies.

I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, Xochi Blymyer, but everyone was talking about it during AFF. What did you think of it?

Still need to see this!

Ashley Renee Smith it's good! The cast is great, it gets weird with this guy coming into the world of these super rich people - I like how they described it as ToxicSpirt.

I loved this Ashley Renee Smith I am a fan of Emerald and going breakdown for the Arrival Scene made me understand better the contradictions inside Saltburn. The surrealism and mundain and how this character introduces in this unusual family. Isn’t a easy movie to understand, but a piece of Art on script, production and direction. Actors are fabulous! If you can, see it!
