Hello everyone, my name is Tobey Alexander and I'm a British author and screenwriter. I'm here to learn and progress my writing career as far as I can. My fill-time job is a far cry from the industry and until the last 18 months I had been treating my writing as a hobby not daring to put myself out there too much.
Having been identified as autistic late in life (in my mid thirties) and seeing my youngest son have the same diagnosis I revamped my approach and was determined to show that a differently wired brain and somewhat vivid imagination is a gift not a curse. In fact I wrote an entire trilogy of books for him with a "high functioning" autistic hero that was based on him. So far that has been my biggest success and having adapted it to screenplay it has achieved some smaller awards.
That said it is all a new world to me, I've done a handful of Potch Sessions on Stage 32 and used all the feedback to better promote myself.
I have worked on projects across multiple genres, probably a bad idea jot to contain myself in a single niche, but that's how I work.
