After a twenty-year career in production and post-production in New Orleans (national commercials for Coca-Cola, P&G, Popeyes Chicken, Crisco, etc.), I moved back to my home town of Tell City, IN (population 8,000) after Hurricane Katrina. While continuing to service many of my commercial clients long-distance, I've begun a new phase of my career producing documentaries and programming showcasing aspects of the history and culture of America's heartland. My recent (2010 to present) documentary projects include The Art of Living - a personal view of the positive aspects of Midwestern life that I had overlooked in my youth (airing on PBS affiliates in the Midwest) - and They Wore the Red Suit, a story of the men who portray Santa Claus as a career, and how this vocation that now includes thousands was first created by a local man named Jim Yellig in 1935. Until his death in 1984, Jim visited with more children than any Santa in history, playing the role year-round in a small theme park that grew into a national tourist attraction. (Just completed and beginning private screenings and film festivals.) Distributors, investors, sponsors, patrons, sugar-daddies/mamas are all welcomed with open arms and puckered lips. ;-) (Other indie documentary producers understand, I'm sure.) I look forward to networking with other like-minded creatives in the Stage 32 venue, and am happy to find and connect with so many professionals in the larger towns in the region - Louisville, Evansville and Bloomington. It's a pleasure to meet all of you. Larry Peter

Hi Marylin. I forwarded your info to my marketing director and you'll be hearing from her. I was working in New Orleans for 25 years, so I'm hoping to make a trip South to see my film in the Lousiana Festival.
