Introduce Yourself : Hello Fellow Community Members! by J. Alexander Guidry

I am a filmmaker, writer, photographer, teacher, and creative entrepreneur. Currently, I am based in Dallas-Fort Worth, and servicing both DFW and Austin, Texas.

This month, I am happy to announce my first commercial script has been picked up by Austin-based Academy-qualified Director Christine Chen (A Bird's Nest, Ya Albi) of Moth to Flame Films. The filming of the commercial is set to take place in Austin, Texas February 28th-March 2nd.

Personally, I own and manage a wedding filmmaking business, 2:1 Studios, which delivers documentary-style films focused on togetherness and environment. Weekly, I teach Graphic Design and Videography at a local non-profit private College Prep academy, Northstar School. A few colleagues and I are launching our commercial production company this summer, and right now we are working with commercial clients to build our portfolio for launch.

As far as 2019 goals go, I'd like to finish my novel and start the development of a film script around the book. I'd also like to collaborate with others, and offer my unique skills to other creatives.

My personal philosophy is: "Traveling alone gets you there fast, but traveling together makes certain you'll last."
