Hi, I am a long time member of the lounge. Is anyone else feeling overwhelmed and overspent and stressed and not just because of the holidays? I have so much writing to do for my own self, but so many other things to do with writing and with holidays and the WORLD AND MY LITTLE DOG IS SICK. Please let me that I am not the only person feeling super stressed.

Hi, D Stenard. Happy Holidays! Great to see you at Introduce Yourself Weekend. Sorry to hear your dog is sick. Hope he/she feels better soon!
I know what you mean. It's a busy holiday season. I'm getting some writing done. It's a page, two pages, etc. here and there. And I did long writing sessions last week.

D Stenard Hi there, so, you're definitely not alone. The Holiday Season, especially in the Western Hemisphere, is so warped at times, and we feel these obligations to x, y, z...you name it, it's there. Today, Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, if you can do one little thing for you, do it...and thank yourself, for everything you are. Sometimes in the frenetic-ness of the "should", and "coulds", and "woulds", we forget to breathe. I see you, you are so present here, and I know, you got this: ) May peace grow within you, and light, love and joy lead you, always : ) and a wonderful 2026 to you!

You're not alone. the groups I'm in are all clamoring at once wanting more. Take a day, or a few hours each day, away from the noise. go for a walk, read a book (this helps me the most as I enter a different world), do something else that makes you happy. It’s a stressful time regardless, and we're dragged away at all the wrong times. I hope this helps and best of luck with your pup.

Hi! D Stenard I hope your dog feels better soon! There's definitely so much going on in the world,. I think pausing, finding solace and writing is a good way to hone that energy into something meaningful. I hope you feel better as well, good luck!

Hi D Stenard I totally get it. Especially when our fur baby is sick. I am not stressed out because I refuse to go to the store. Ha I did all my Christmas shopping online. Groceries too, that's how I handle the chaos. Crowded stores give me anxiety, so why put myself through it? Also, I find going for walks helps. If you have a nearby park or walking trail, just spend time without the phone, mindfully enjoying nature, and the sunlight. That always makes me feel better. I hope you are having unseasonably warm weather like most of us, and aren't in the frozen tundra.
