The DSM Directive (or Directive (EU) 2019/790), is a European Union Directive from 2019. What is crucial for European film producers to know is that, as of the Directive becoming in effect, producers will have a reporting obligation imposed by law, towards authors and performers who participate in their projects. Authors and performers should regularly receive, at least once a year, information on the exploitation of their works and performances from the parties to whom they have assigned or transferred their rights: which, generally, are the production companies. This is in particular regarding the exploitation methods, all income generated, and the corresponding remuneration. European producers need to understand the impact of the DSM Directive and how to become compliant with the reporting aspects of it.

There is nobody better than David Zannoni. How fortunate for producers all over the world who wish to work in Europe to have the chance to learn from - and ask questions to - David. Can't wait for this!
