I've had this animated fantasy film idea wracking around in my head for a while now. It's about a princess who gets turned into a dragon and it's meant to be a deconstruction of many Disney films. I need to talk this through with someone. Can anyone here help?

hmm.. sounds interesting... what exactly would you be deconstructing? Shrek kinda did that with princess Fiona, she turned into an ogre.

I like the idea that this is Shrek but focused on a female character. Fiona was a good start but she was a secondary character. I'm curious to hear more about the concept.

I'm still trying to figure it out exactly, but it would be along the lines of a tragic story where the princess protagonist turns into the main villain. Think of Breaking Bad, but with a Disney Princess archetype. Maybe not so much a deconstruction as it is just mixing up the formula, like the princess who wants more, overprotective/dead parents, good vs. evil, things like that.
Ah ok Ian Thompson , so looking at a Maleficient sort of smash up... I hear you on the Breaking Bad. Well there are definitely a lot of ideas to explore there.
why not turn her into a llama....oh wait.
Thank you everyone for your replies. I always enjoy it when people like my ideas, I'm just not always great at executing them. I don't want to go too much more into the plot specifics or characters I have right now. I just appreciated talking out the story with someone because if an idea stays in my own head for too long I just keep second guessing myself and it never gets done.
Hey Ian Thompson - love this idea. I had a thought: You might consider booking a call with Mike Disa who worked for BOTH Walt Disney Studios and DreamWorks Animation. Mike currently works on "THE SIMPSONS", is a busy script doctor, and has two separate development deals.
