Hi! My name is AJ. I've been a writer for as long as I can remember. I've only recently taken a fancy to screenwriting. I'm in a position now where I am able to explore some options with my writing. I joined this site in hopes for tips, links, leads and so forth in getting me at least turned in the right direction. I'm not one for blogging or making too many posts, unless I have a question. But I did want to introduce myself. As I said, my name is AJ. I'm a single mother of two (a boy and girl). The genre I seem to circle around is horror/thriller/suspense. I have been a horror nut since around conception! Horror is in my blood. I thrive on the ability scare people. My goal, as a writer, is to truly terrify people. Thanks!

Hello, Amanda. There's always a market for horror scripts, so try to get some decent feedback (good writers are as good as paid readers!), fine-tune your best 2 or 3 scripts and try to get them read by as many people (who seem decent) as possible. You'll need more than one because it's possible that you'll be asked "What else do you have?" Good luck (and be warned: writers can spend lifetimes to get that break and for some of them, for whatever reason, it never comes).

I know a lot of writers never make it. that's where my faith and belief in my ability come in. it's finding the ppl to read my stuff that's been hard! I am open to any and all suggestions!!!
I'm trying to get into film/television and don't really know which direction to go in. I'm in the process of writing my first screenplay. I'm turning one of my story ideas into a horror film.I've had several pieces published in the past and I'm looking tomove forward in my goals. As an unknown writer it's hard to get my work noticed.What I had meant about suggestions was is there was websites or agencies that I could send my or lists I could find these in.I'm not looking for someone to pull me along our give me a handout. I fully believe that if you want something bad enough, show how bad you want it and work. So far the advice I've gotten has been welcome and very helpful! I thank you all!
Hi Amanda, welcome to S32. Sounds like you have your genre set, have you decided on feature film or TV Series? I've done some zombie shorts and enjoyed them so you might consider some local studios like I did. Best advice I can give is have fun. If it's not fun its not worth it. :D
