I just registered to do a written pitch to Lionsgate this weekend. I'm good at realtime spoken pitching, but I have no experience here. Can anyone give me some good tips, please - IF you've had a request for a scripts from your written pitch? THANKS!
Thank you, Christopher.very useful. For a written pitch, where the executive won't be asking me anything, should I volunteer the answers to any of the "Possible questions" you name?
how much detail do you go into about the main character's routine? I only mention one thing they normally do during the day which is deliver fresh fruit which leads to the inciting incident.
Would this be a good start to a pitch? Title Drama In the tone of x meet y, my movies unfolds in world z which the g wants to shut down. This is all about r. Unaware of the family business, sweet and timid princess delivers only the best fruit after ballet class. Should I leave out her ballet class since it doesn't really matter in the overall love story?
Just say,"X meets Y. On Z, the g wants to shut down___________, which will destroy all _________________. Make the stakes real high.
I put it like this: In the tone of fast & furious, x meets y in an underground world which the police are struggling to bring to an end. How's that?
