I do it like this, scene caller, scene receiver, slugline intercut and then call out a specific slugline with a 'continuous' and VO dialogue if you want to start with a specific character during the conversation.
Thanks a ton Beth...I have been an avid reader of David Trottier and I usually use the method of mentioning the two locations and write out the telephone conversation. But specifically wanted to know if there is any other way...sorry my question was too generic.

Here's a couple of David Trottier links that may be helpful to you for formatting guidance; the first gives example of INTERCUT for a phone conversation that cuts back and forth between two characters in different locations, and the second gives example for how to format texting and/or email in a script: http://www.scriptmag.com/features/ask-script-qa/ask-the-expert-intercut-..., and: https://www.keepwriting.com/tsc/textinginmovies.htm. :) And here's one from screenwriter John August on how to format a one-sided phone conversation: https://johnaugust.com/2005/formatting-the-one-sided-phone-conversation. Hope that helps!

Not sure what you mean Owen
Craig, take a look at the links I provided above. They're great examples from great sources. ;)
Okay, scene, read slugline.
