Screenwriting : Impressions by Donte Littlejohn

Impressions

I have a quick question for my fellow screenwriters. When writing a screenplay or teleplay, if one of your characters is impersonating another (i.e. Seth Rogan and Zac Efron impersonating Batman in Neighbors), would I write that into a parenthetical or should I put it somewhere in an action line? Thanks in advance!

Alex Bloom

I'd write a short line in the description explaining what they're doing, but there's no hard and fast rules on this sort of thing.

Thanks guys! I think I'm going to put it in a parenthetical similar to Chad's example.

Dan Guardino

I agree with Chad. An actor's direction would be the way to do it.
