I would recommend that any aspiring screenwriter should watch THE CHAIR http://www.starz.com/originals/thechair . It's a reality series on the STARZ channel that took a woman screenwriter and a popular YouTube channel guy and pitted them against each other to direct a film. Given the same original script and the same budget and the same shoot location - Pittsburgh. Just watch what happens to the original script and the original writer.

Loved it! It was so fascinating. I learned a thing or two. I was surprised at how much the writer had a say on one set, but not the other.
